Que by Pltf: What reason had you to consider the goods were left as a pledge.

Ans.: Chiefly because Chribbs paid me three or four dollars on account of McRoberts and from other conversation which I cannot recall.

Question by Deft: Do you not think that McRoberts was indebted to me exclusive of the money which I paid to you.

Ans.: Yes certainly.

By Pltf: How do you know all the property of Chribbs was burnt.

Ans.: I only know by seeing the ruins.
